Taiwanese enterprises are still in the critical initial stage of sustainable development, exploring appropriate models and technological innovation mechanisms. Previous literature focused on single-point corporate energy-saving and low-carbon measures platforms, which have their limitations. Therefore, this study employs case analysis from the steel and semiconductor industries using broader "ecosystem theory" perspective to incorporate stakeholder perspectives. Furthermore, it examines how leading domestic enterprises establish their own low-carbon ecosystems and promote transformation.
The research findings indicate that both steel and semiconductor firms' low-carbon ecosystems transcend traditional supply chain management, focusing on stakeholder collaboration for tailored ecosystem strategies, trust-building, and innovative value activities amid green transformation challenges. Leading firms actively invest in developing and constructing innovative ecosystems which are rich in knowledge and technological capabilities.
The study suggests: 1. Providing strategic insights and exemplary cases for Taiwan's leading firms to establish low-carbon ecosystems. 2. Encouraging SMEs to join low-carbon industrial networks, utilizing resources and networks, participating in "1+N" demonstrations, and benefiting from green consultancy services. 3. Advising Taiwanese firms to prioritize energy-saving equipment, process optimization, and waste recycling in the short term; adopt low-carbon technologies for new value creation in the medium term; and transition to renewable energy in the long term.
